Anastasia is a Necropolis hero in Might & Magic: Fates. Necropolis is the Undead faction — it wins by flooding the board with cheap creatures, recurring them endlessly from the Graveyard, and grinding opponents out in long games. If you like decks that turn every dead creature into more value, Anastasia is a perfect fit.
This guide covers how Necropolis wants to play, the key cards that hold the deck together, a sample Undead value list to start from, and the mulligan habits that win games before turn three.
Anastasia's Playstyle
Necropolis is a value attrition faction. Unlike aggressive decks that race for damage, Anastasia is rewarded for letting creatures die — because almost every payoff brings them back. Your game plan has three steps:
- Fill the board early with cheap Undead so you never miss a turn.
- Feed the Graveyard through trades; dead creatures are fuel, not losses.
- Recur and amplify — summon those creatures back, buff them, and out-grind the opponent.
Key Cards
These are the cards that define an Anastasia deck. Build around them:
| Cost | Card | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 4 | Amulet of Necromancy Rare | Whenever you summon an Undead creature, give it +2 Attack. Turns a swarm into real damage. |
| 3 | Necromancer Reinforcer Epic | Reduces the cost of your Undead by 1 — the engine that lets you flood the board. |
| 4 | Dance of the Dead Rare | Summon 3 cheap Undead from your Graveyard. A swing on a full Graveyard. |
| 6 | Soul Calling Common | Summon a Lingering Ghost for each creature in your Graveyard — your late-game payoff. |
| 7 | Atropos, Weaver of the Dead Legendary | Summon 2 random creatures from your Graveyard. Recursion on a body. |

Mulligan Guide
Anastasia wants to act on every early turn. In your opening hand:
- Keep at least one 1- or 2-cost Undead so you curve out.
- Keep Necromancer Reinforcer — it makes the rest of your hand cheaper.
- Redraw expensive payoffs like Soul Calling or Atropos in your opening hand; they're dead early.
For the full keep-or-redraw framework, see our Might & Magic Fates Mulligan Guide.
Matchups & Tips
- Vs aggro: trade early and often. Your creatures come back; theirs don't.
- Vs control: don't overcommit into board wipes — rebuild from the Graveyard instead.
- General: count your Graveyard before casting Soul Calling or Dance of the Dead; timing those for maximum bodies wins games.
