Sandor is a Stronghold hero in Might & Magic: Fates whose hero attacks are Immune to Retaliation. Stronghold is the savage faction of Orcs and Goblins — it wins by attacking relentlessly and turning incoming damage into bigger threats through Enrage.
This guide covers Stronghold's aggressive game plan, the cards a Sandor deck is built around, a sample Orc-aggro list, and how to mulligan for a fast start.
Sandor's Playstyle
Stronghold is a brutal aggro faction. Sandor floods the board with cheap Orcs and Goblins, attacks every turn (his own hits ignore retaliation), and uses Enrage so trades make his creatures stronger.
- Curve out with cheap Goblins and Orcs and start attacking immediately.
- Embrace damage — Enrage units grow when hurt, so unfavorable trades often aren't.
- Swing freely — Sandor's Immune to Retaliation hero attacks add safe, repeatable damage.
Key Cards
These cards define a Sandor deck — build around them:
| Cost | Card | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 6 | Acamas, Champion of the Bloodhorn Legendary | Instantly Enrages your characters for an explosive turn. |
| 9 | Blackskull Cyclops Epic | Double Attack — a huge closing threat. |
| 6 | Black Skull Clan Warlord Epic | Grows whenever the opponent casts a spell. |
| 10 | Behemoth Epic | Enrage: gains +3/+3 — snowballs out of removal range. |
| 2 | Goblin Mentor | Other friendly Orcs have +1 Attack — a go-wide anthem. |

Mulligan Guide
Sandor wants to act on every early turn. In your opening hand:
- Keep cheap Goblins and Orcs so you curve out and attack on turn 1–2.
- Keep Goblin Mentor — the +1 Attack anthem pushes early damage.
- Redraw top-end like Behemoth and Blackskull Cyclops in the opening hand; they're too slow early.
For the full keep-or-redraw framework, see our Might & Magic Fates Mulligan Guide.
Matchups & Tips
- Vs control: flood the board and race — use Enrage payoffs to punch through removal before they stabilize.
- Vs aggro: trade with your bodies (Enrage rewards it), then close with Sandor's retaliation-immune hero attacks.
- General: attack with the hero whenever it's safe — Immune to Retaliation makes it free, repeatable damage.
